Active Ingredients:
Loratadine
Therapeutic actions: The active ingredient of Klarfast is Loratadine. Loratadine belongs to a group of medications known as H1-histamine receptor blockers. Histamine is released from the mastocytes when foreign substance(allergen) enters the blood stream. Being in active form Histamine triggers a certain number of chemical reaction resulting in allergy symptoms. By blocking H1-histamine receptors Klarfast eliminates the allergy manifestations such as sneezing, nasal congestion, hives, nose and eye itching. Klarfast(Loratadine) doesn't possess sedative and anticholinergic activity. Loratadine hardly cross the blood-brain barrier and possesses a low affinity to the brain's histamine receptors.
Loratadine does not change physiological functions, laboratory indexes, psychotic status and ECG .
Indications: Klarfast is used to treat:
- Hay fever(allergic rhinitis) and all year round rhinitis
- allergic conjunctivitis
- Chronic hives
- Itching dermatosis
Contraindications and cautions:
Do not use Klarfast(Loratadine) in:
- Pregnancy
- Breastfeeding
- Hypersensitivity to Loratadine
- In children under 2 years old
