Anti Infection
Infection – is a type of contamination of living organisms by bacteria, virus, fungi or protozoa. In medical terminology infection is a type of interaction of human or animal organism with foreign microorganisms.
Infections are divided by type:
Local infection – local contamination with pathogenic microorganisms. Usually it is characterized by an inflammatory reaction which can be treated with different local anti infection drugs.
Systemic infection – when the microorganisms are found in the blood of the patient.
Latent infection – when the microorganism lives inside of the patient and doesn't manifest its development.
There fore Anti infection drugs can be divided in the following groups:
Local anti infection means that are used externally on skin or mucous membranes without entering the blood stream and metabolizing in the liver.
Systemic anti-infection means which are used to treat blood and internal organ infections.
Anti-infection medication presented in this category mostly consist of the first type of drugs. Skin infections can manifest in such illnesses: Furuncles,Carbuncles, Folliculitis, Impetigo and others.
