Decaris
Drug name: Decaris
Active Ingredients:
- Levamisole
Therapeutic actions: Decaris is antihelminthic preparation. Decaris is highly effective in ascaris lumbricoides infestation and hookworm disease. Decaris works by binding to helmints and causes the blockage of nerve ganglions and the development of myoparalisis. Paralyzed worms are eliminated within 24 hours after the application of the medicine. Decaris also exerts immunemodulatory action associated with its ability to activate the function of T-cells and mononuclear phagocytes.
Indications: As antihelminthic remedy in:
- Ascaris lumbricoides infestation
- Hookworm disease
As immunemodulatory remedy in:
- Infectious diseases(Herpes simplex 1 and 2 type, Herpes Zoster, verruca, upper and lower respiratory tract infections, sinusitis, chronic active hepatitis, persistent viral hepatitis)
- Deficiency of the immune system and autoimmune diseases(rheumatoid arthritis, Grohn's diseases,recurrent aphthous stomatitis, Reiter's disease)
- Malignant growth of the lungs, large bowel, mammary gland
- Hodgkin disease and leucosis
Contraindications and cautions: Decaris should not be used in the following conditions:
- Agranulocytosis
- Pregnancy
- Breastfeeding
- Increased sensitivity to any of the medication active ingredients
Warning! Avoid alcohol drinking while taking Decaris. It is recommended to check white blood cells counts in 10 hours after the application of Decaris.
Adverse effects: There are possible side-effects associated with this medicine that can affect individuals in different ways. If a side effect is stated here, that does not necessarily mean the fact that all people using Decaris will experience it or any other.
- Digestive system: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain.
- Allergic reactions: skin rash, hives, cold and flu symptoms, neurological disturbances, agranulocytosis(more frequently occurs in women with rheumatoid arthritis).
