Active Ingredients:

moxifloxacin

Therapeutic actions: Avelox is a bactericidal antibacterial preparation with a broad action spectrum. Antibacterial effect is associated with the inhibiting of the enzymes called topoisomerase II and IV. This leads to breakdown of the DNA biosynthesis that is ultimately fatal for the microorganisms. Avelox is effective against a wide variety of gram negative and gram-positive microorganisms, anaerobic, aciduric bacteria.

Indications: Avelox is approved to treat infections in adults caused by sensitive to the moxifloxacin microorganisms:

Acute sinusitis
Aggravation of the chronic bronchitis
Pneumonia
Skin and soft tissue infections

Contraindications and cautions: Avelox is contraindicated in:

Hypersensitivity to any of the medication ingredients
Pregnancy
Breastfeeding

Avelox should be used with caution:

CNS disorders
Seizures
Prolonged QT interval
Low potassium blood levels
Bradycardia
Acute myocardium ischaemia
Abnormal heart rhythm

The most observed Avelox side effects include: dizziness, diarrhea, nausea, dyspepsia

Serious Avelox side effects include: tendon pain and swelling, depression, liver dysfunction, blood diarrhea, muscle pain, joints pain, skin allergic reaction such as hives, itching
