Other names used: Coaxil Active Ingredients: TianeptineTherapeutic actions: Tianeptine is a unique antidepressant which structurally resembles tricyclic antidepressants, however the effects are completely different. The drug works by improving the neuronal reuptake of serotonin in the cerebrum, increases the spontaneous activity of pyramidal cells hippocampus and increases their restoration potential after functional retardation. Elevates mood, removes physical retardation, increase overall tone of the organism. Normalizes the behavior of alcoholics during abstinence syndrome. The antidepressant and anxiolytic effective of the drug promotes elimination of somatic complaints induced by anxiety and mood changes. The drug does not cause addiction does not affect cardiovascular system, sleep pattern, psycho-motor reactions and parasympathetic nervous system.
Indications: The preparation is indicated in treatment of:
- Depressed mood in elderly patient or alcoholics during abstinent period
- Anxiety disorders with somatic complaints
Contraindications and cautions: The drug should not be used in the following cases:
- Young age prior to 15 years
- Pregnancy
- Breastfeeding
- Hypersensitivity to any components of the preparation
