Active Ingredients:
Naphazoline
Therapeutic actions: Nafazoptin contains the active ingredients Naphazoline hydrochloride which is a type of medication known as sympathomimetic. Naphazolin works by constricting the blood vessels in the eye. Naphazoline acts on alpha-receptors in the arterioles of the conjunctiva to narrow blood vessels, resulting in decreased congestion. As a result, swelling and redness in the eye is reduced.
Indications: Nafazoptin is used to treat burning, redness, irritation and dryness of the eye caused by different irritants.
Contraindications and cautions:
You should not Naphazoline eye drops
- in Children under 12 years of age
- in Glaucoma
- if you experience any eye diseases
- in patients who have recently had eye surgery.
You should talk with your health care provider prior to taking this medication
- if you are pregnant
- if you are breastfeeding
- if you experience any heart disease
- if you have diabetes
- if you have thyroid problems
Warning!
Do not take Naphazptin by mouth
You should not use contact lenses while you are taking Nafazoptin
Do not touch the tip of the dropper to any surface in order to avoid contamination by foreign microorganisms.
If you do not experience any improvements while taking this medication seek medical advice from your health care provider.
Avoid prolonged use of Naphazoline. Chronic use of Nafazoptin may damage the blood vessels (veins and arteries) in the eye.
Adverse effects: There are possible side-effects associated with this medicine that can affect individuals in different ways. If a side effect is stated here, that does not necessarily mean the fact that all people using Naphazoline will experience it or any other.
- allergic reaction
- breathing disorders
- swelling of the face, tongue or lips
- irregular heart beat
- hypertension

Especially pay attention to the following drugs:
- a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) such as isocarboxazid (Marplan), tranylcypromine (Parnate), or phenelzine (Nardil)
- a beta-blocker such as propranolol (Inderal), metoprolol (Lopressor, Toprol XL), or labetalol (Normodyne, Trandate).
