Active Ingredients:

  • Bisoprolol

Therapeutic actions: Bisoprolol belong to a group of drugs called selective Beta-blockers. The drug exerts hypotensive effect due to decrease in cardiac output, decrease in rennin secretion by the kidney. The drug also exerts anti-anginal effect and lowers the demand for oxygen by the myocard.

Indications: Concor is indicated in the following conditions:

  • Arterial hypertension
  • Angina
  • Chronic heart failure

Contraindications and cautions: Bisoprolol is contraindicated in cases of:

  • Shock
  • Known hypersensitivity to the components of the preparation
  • Heart conductibility dysfunction
  • Sick sinus syndrome
  • Decreased hear rate
  • Young age in children
  • Arterial hypotension
  • Bronchial asthma and other restrictive disease of the respiratory tract

The drug should be used with caution in:

  • Diabetes
  • Metabolic acidosis
  • Angiospatic stenocardia
  • Psoriasis

Adverse effects: There are possible side-effects associated with this medicine that can affect individuals in different ways. If a side effect is stated here, that does not necessarily mean the fact that all people using Concor will experience it or any other. The side-effects include:

  • CNS effects: tiredness, vertigo, headache, insomnia, depression. Rarely: galucinations. Generaly such side-effects are light and pass within 1-2 weeks of treatment
  • Vision impairment
  • Decreased lacrimation
  • Conjunctivitis
  • Cardiovascular system: orthostatic hypotension, bradycardia, peripheral swelling, feeling of cold extremities
  • Respiratory system: rarely- dyspnea
  • Gastro-intestinal system: Diarrhea, constipation, nausea, abdominal pain, hepatitis, increase in activity of liver enzymes
  • Muscle weakness
  • Arthropathia
  • Endocrine system: lowered tolerance to glucose, hypoglycemia, increased in the levels of triglycerides in blood
  • Decreased sexual function
  • Itching
  • Skin irritation
  • Increased sweating
