Drug name: Mucinum
Active Ingredients:
- Alexanders leaves
- Boldo powder
- buckthorn extract
- green anise powder
Therapeutic actions: Micinum is a combined preparation which exerts laxative effect by stimulating the receptors in the large bowel and increases peristalsis. Also increases contractive activity of the small intestine. The laxative effect is achieved within 8-12 hours after the preparation has been taken.
Indications: The preparation is used in treatment of short term constipation in adults.
Contraindications and cautions: The drug should not be used in the following conditions:
- Proctitis
- Ulcerous colitis
- Crone's disease
- Intestinal blockage
- Abdominal pain of unidentified genesis
- Severe dehydration
- Young age less then 10 years
The use of Mucinum should be considered in pregnancy and during lactation period.
