Drug name: Actovegin
Active Ingredients:
Free protein extract of calf blood
Therapeutic actions: Actovegin activates metabolism in tissues. It also decreases tissue's hypoxia , improves trophicity and stimulates the process of regeneration. Actovegin increases not only the intracellular content of glucose, but also improves oxidizing metabolism, therefore the energy of the cell is improved, the blood circulation in brain is also improved.
Indications: Actovegin is used to treat:
- metabolic and vascular disorders in the brain (including sharp and chronic cerebral blood circulation disorders, dementia, craniocerebral injury);
- peripheral (arterial and venous) vascular disturbances and their consequence (angiopathy, trophic ulcers);
- wounds (ulcer of different etiology, the trophic disturbances (bedsore))
- thermal and chemical burns;
- the radiation injuries of the skin, the mucous membranes, radiation neuropathy.
Contraindications and cautions:
You should not use Actovegin if you have an allergy to free protein extract of calf blood
You should talk with your health care provider prior to taking Actovegin of you experience any of these conditions:
- heart insufficiency,
- edema of lungs,
- nbsp; oliguria,
- anuria,
- hyper-hydration,
- Diabetes mellitus,
- hyperglycemia.
- you are pregnant
