Active Ingredients:
- Caffeine
- Paracetamol
- Propyphenazone
Therapeutic actions: Kofan is a combined preparation in which every component exerts specific effect. Caffeine exerts psycho-stimulating, analeptic effect, amplifies analgesic effect, decreases somnolence, the feeling of tiredness, increases physical and intellectual ability. Paracetamol and Propyphenazone exert analgesic and antipyretic effect.
Indications: The drug is indicated in treatment of mild pain syndrome:
- Headaches
- Toothaches
- Myalgia
- Post-traumatic pain
- Fever syndrome
- Flu
- Common cold
Contraindications and cautions: Kofan should not be used in the following conditions:
- Hypersensitivity to the components of the preparation
- Sever renal or liver insufficiency
- Haemopoietic system dysfunction
- Bronchial asthma
- Conditions which involve breathing restrictions
- Intracranial hypertension
- Acute myocardial infraction
- Arrhythmia
- Hypertension
- Alcohol abuse
- Glaucoma
- Pregnancy
- Lactation period
- In children younger then 12 years old
Used with caution:
- Stomach and duodenal ulcer
- Elderly age
Adverse effects: There are possible side-effects associated with this medicine that can affect individuals in different ways. If a side effect is stated here, that does not necessarily mean the fact that all people using Kofan will experience it or any other. The side-effects include:
- Nausea
- Hypertension
- |Insomnia
- Allergic reactions of different genesis
- Skin irritation
- Bronchospasm
- Rhinorrhea

- Blood thinners
- Ergotamine
- Ethanol
- Antibiotics (especially chloramphenicol)
- Sedatives
- Tranquilizers
- Anticonvulsants
- Antiemetic means
- Stimulants of microsomal oxidation
