Active Ingredients:
Drotaverine hydrochloride
Therapeutic actions: Drotaverine is an antispasmodic agent with smooth muscle relaxant properties.
Indications: Profilaxis and treatment: spasm of plain muscle (renal,gastric and intestinal colic, biliary and gall-bladder dyskinesia, cholecystitis, postcholecystectomy syndrome) pielitis, hyperkinetic constipation and colic, proctitis, tenesmus, pylorospasm, gastroduodenitis, gastric and duodenal ulcer, endarteritis, spasm of peripheral, cerebral and coronary arteries. Algodismenorrhea, threat of miscarriage, premature birth, spasm of uteruses pharynx during birth, protracted opening of uteruses pharynx, post-natal contractions.
Dosage & Administration: The average dose for adults is 1-2 tablets 3 times daily. Children should be given smaller doses, reduced according to age and body weight. Younger children once or twice 1/4-1/2 tablet daily. Older children 1/2-1 tablet daily.
Contraindications and cautions: NO-SPA should not be used in hepatic and nephritic insufficiency not in acute heart failure.

Rarely headache, nausea, hypotension, vertigo and heart palpitation.

- The abolishment and prevention of pain and functional disorders caused by spasms of the smooth muscles.
- Blliary and renal colits, spasms associated with cholecystopathy, cholelithiasis and cholecystitis.
- Spasms associated with nephrolithiasis, pyelitis and cystitis.
- Spastic conditions of the gastrointestinal system: gastric and duodenal ulcer.. Here it can be associated with atropine or similar drugs. - Pyloric spasms, spastic constipation, colitis, proctitis and tenesmus. - It can be administered as an adjuvant agent in angina pectoris and coronary spasm. - Furthermore it is used in dysmenorrhoea and to reduce irritability of the pregnant uterus, in spasm of the OS uteri during parturition and threatened abortion.
