Drug name: Lioton

Active Ingredients:

Heparin sodium

Therapeutic actions: Lioton gel contains the active ingredient heparin. Lioton exerts anti-inflammatory, anti edemic and anti-proliferative action. Lioton forms a complex with antitrombin III and disturbs the activity of thrombin, lowers platelets agregation. Lioton also impairs the effects of hyaluronan, increases blood fibrinolytic properties.

Indications: Lioton gel is indicated in the following conditions:

Thrombophlebitis of surface veins, flebothrombosis.
Complications after surgical operations on the veins;
Localized infiltrations and edemas;
Muscular tissue, tendon, joint injuries.
Hypodermic haematoma.
Superficial adhesive phlebitis

Contraindications and cautions: Lioton gel should not be applied in the following conditions:

Known hypersensitivity to any of the medication ingredients
Ulcerous- necrotic processes
Open wounds
Tendency to bleedings
Low platelet counts

Non steroidal anti inflammatory drugs
Tetracyclines
Anti histamines
