Active Ingredients:
Dydrogesterone
Therapeutic actions: The active ingredient of Duphaston is Dydrogesterone that is synthetic sex hormone with progestagens affect. Dydrogesterone is similar to Progesterone. Progesterone is essential hormone for the development of endometrium(healthy womb lining) that is necessary for pregnancy. Dydrogesterone contributes to beginning of secretory phase in endometrium, decreasing the risk of endometrium's hyperplasia or blastomatosis caused by estrogens. Dydrogesterone doesn't exerts estrogenic, androgenic, termogenic, anabolic and corticosteroid action.
Indications: Duphaston is used to treat the following conditions:
- Abdominal pain related to menstrual periods
- Restoring bleeding in the absence of menstrual period
- Absence of menstrual periods while taking estrogen medications
- Endometriosis
- Sterility caused by lutein deficiency.
- Irregular menstrual cycles
- Dysmenorrhea
- Premenstrual syndrome
- Bleeding and abdominal pain while pregnancy
- Female infertility
- Menstrual bleeding while taking estrogens
- Preventing the womb lining overgrowth due to estrogen in hormone replacement therapy
Contraindications and cautions:
Do not use this medication if you have ever experienced a hypersensitive reaction to Dydrogesterone or any other components of the preparation.
Do not use Duphaston in:
- Blood clotting diseases or if you have recently had a heart attacks or strokes.
- In gal bladder or liver diseases (including liver cancer)
- Jaundice
- Breast or genital cancer
- Unusual vaginal bleeding
- Anemia
- Breastfeeding
You should talk with your health care provider prior to taking Duphaston if you experience the following condition:
- Migraine
- Depression
- Asthma
- Heart or kidney problems
- Epilepsy
- Hypertension
Warning!
Stop taking Duphaston if you experience some allergic reaction such as shortness of breast, menstrual changes, sudden headache and others.
