Active Ingredients: Econazole

Therapeutic actions: Econazole is an antifungal antibiotic with a broad-spectrum of action a derivative of imidazole. Manifests fungicidal and anti-bacterial action. Slows the synthesis of ergosterol that regulate the penetrability of the fungal cell membrane. The drug is active against dermatophytes, yeast and moldy fungi. Econazole is effective against fungi that are resistant to other types of treatment. If used locally causes the death of fungi within 3 days, promotes fast regression of burning and itching of coverlet.

Indications: The preparation is used in treatment of dermatomicosis, candiosis, colpitis, fungal vaginitis or vaginitis of other origin as secondary therapy.

Contraindications and cautions: The drug should not be used :

• If you are hypersensitive to any components of the preparations
• If you have a viral or severe bacterial infection
• If you are pregnant, breastfeeding or plan to become pregnant.

Both partners should be treated in cases of vulvo-vaginitis. If the effect of the treatment is not manifested within 3 days then other types of treatment should be considered. If any signs of hypersensitivity manifests the use of Econazole should be seized immediately.

Adverse effects: There are possible side-effects associated with this medicine that can affect individuals in different ways. If a side effect is stated here, that does not necessarily mean the fact that all people using Econazole will experience it or any other.
Local side-effects include: Burning, itching, skin hyperemia, rash, dryness, hypopigmentation, skin atrophy.
Systemic side-effects for suppositories are very rare and manifest in an allergic reaction.
