Drug name: Gynalgin

Active Ingredients: Chlohinaldol, Metronidazole

Therapeutic actions: combined drug that is used for local treatment in gynecology. It possesses antimicrobial, antimycotic and anti-inflammatory action.
Chlorhinaldol is active against the following strains of bacteria: Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus albus, Streptococcus spp. Group B, Corynebacterium, Enterococcus, Enterobacter ; Trichomonas spp. Also possesses antimycotic action.
Metronidazol is a synthetic antiprotazoal and antimicrobial drug that is active against Trichomonas vaginalis, Enterobacter, obligatory anaerobes Bacteroides spp., Bacteroides fragilis, Fusobacterium spp., Clostridium spp., Eubacter spp., Peptococcus spp. è Peptostreptococcus spp. Has no effect on optional anaerobes and obligatory aerob bacteria.

Indications: Infections and inflammations of the vagina, that are caused by bacteria sensible to the active ingredients of the preparation, fungi and protozoa or their combination

Contraindications and cautions: Do not use Gynalgin in the following cases:

  • Hypersensitivity to any components of the preparation
  • Pregnancy
  • Lactation period

The treatment is not performed during menses. The patient should refrain from sexual intercourse right after the introduction of the drug. In cases of vaginitis that is caused by Trichomonas vaginalis, it is advised to treat your partner with oral metronidazole. Alcohol should be avoided during the treatment period.

Adverse effects: There are possible side-effects associated with this medicine that can affect individuals in different ways. If a side effect is stated here, that does not necessarily mean the fact that all people using Gynalgin will experience it or any other. Some local and minor side effects are: vaginal intching that should pass right after the treatment is over. Other side-effects can be:
