Active Ingredients:

  • butoconazole nitrate
Therapeutic actions: Gynofort contains the active ingredient butoconazole nitrate that belongs to a group of called imidazols. Butoconazole exerts the fungicidal activity against Candida, Trichophyton, Microsporum, Epidermaphyton as well as some strains of Gram-positive bacteria. Gynofort works by blocking the production of ergosterol that is essential component in the fungal cells. Insufficiency of ergosterol enhances the permeability of the fungal membrane that is ultimately fatal for fungi. In intra vaginal use butoconazole remains in vaginal mucous membrane within 4-5 day. It means that one dosage of Gynofort is usually enough for the full recovery.

Indications: Gynofort is used to treat vaginal infection caused by Candida albicans(thrush)

Contraindications and cautions:
You should not Gynofort in the following conditions:

  • Hypersensitivity to butoconazole nitrate
  • Pregnancy
  • Breastfeeding

Warning!
Do not use condoms or intravaginal diaphragms within 72 hours after Gynofort application.
