Drug name: Hexicon
Active Ingredients:
- Chlorhexidine gluconate
Therapeutic actions: Hexicon contains the active ingredient chlorhexidine gluconate. Chlorhexidine possesses antiseptic properties against Gram-positive and Gram-negative including Ureaplasma spp., Neisseria gonorrhoeae Treponema pallidum, Chlamidia spp., Trichomonas vaginalis, Gardnerella vaginalis, Bacteroides fragilis.
Indications: Hexicon is used in the following conditions:
- Prophylaxis of veneral diseases(syphillis, gonorrhea, trichomoniasis, chlamidiosis, ureoplasmosis)
- Vaginal inflammation caused by bacteria or fungi.
- Endo and exocervitis
- Vaginitis(including non specific, mixed or caused by trichomonads)
Contraindications and cautions: Do not use Chlorhexidine gluconate in:
- Allergy to chlorhexidine
- In children
Talk with your health care provider prior to taking chlorhexidine if:
- you are pregnant
- you are breastfeeding
Warning!
This medication is only for vaginal use.
