Active Ingredients:
- Danazol
Therapeutic actions: The active ingredient of Danol is Danazol. Danazol is a synthetic hormone that is similar to sex hormones called androgens.
By acting on the pituitary gland, Danol inhibits the synthesis of hormones called gonadotrophins. These hormones are essential for the production of sex hormones such as oestrogen and progestogen. Due to lowering the production of sex hormones, Danol can be used in hormonal disturbances
Indications: Danol is indicated in the following conditions:
- Endometriosis.
- Non-cancerous lumps in the breast also known as benign breast disease.
- Hereditary angioedema
- Primary hypermenorrhea
- Premenstrual syndrome
- Advanced sexual development
- Gynecomastia
Contraindications and cautions: Danol should not be used in the following conditions:
- Elderly patients
- Children.
- Pregnancy.
- Breastfeeding.
- Vaginal bleedings
- Severe liver and kidney disease
- Severe cardiovascular disease
- Thromboembolism
- Androgen dependant cancer
- Hereditary blood diseases called porphyrias.
Danol should be used with caution in:
- Diabetes
- Epilepsy
- Migraines
- Blood disorders
